Since 1970, Legal Momentum continues to be at the center of every major social and economic justice concern on the women's rights agenda, defining the issues and bringing them to public attention. Legal Momentum pursues equality for women and girls in the workplace, the schools, the family and the courts, through litigation, education, and public information programs. Legal Momentum's docket of cases covers a wide range of gender equity issues. Legal Momentum also provides technical assistance to Congress and state legislatures, employs sophisticated media strategies, distributes up-to-the-minute fact sheets, and organizes national grassroots coalitions to promote and sustain broad-based advocacy for women's equality. Established by the founders of the National Organization for Women, Legal Momentum is a separate organization with its own mission, programs and Board of Directors.
