NYC Mayor's Commission
to Combat Domestic Violence
Established by Executive Order in 1994, the Mayor's Commission to Combat Family Violence has worked with New York City agencies and private organizations to develop and implement a comprehensive citywide strategy to combat domestic violence. The Commission has formulated policies and programs, coordinated systems and services, and implemented citywide public education campaigns to raise awareness of domestic violence and its devastating effects on society. In addition to collaborating with City agencies on many strategies and programs, the Commission has initiated several citywide projects, in collaboration with those agencies.
